What do we do?

Our in-house development team ensures we lead the way in providing the most innovative booking experience in the travel industry. We empower travel agents by providing them with a huge portfolio of products, including over 250,000 hotels and apartments, 5,500 activities and reliable transfer services. Our intuitive and efficient booking tool enables our travel agents to provide the very best service to their clients.

What would you do?

Due to strong growth and an expanding suite of products and services, an exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated and energetic Business Development Manager to join our team in Athens. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual who thrives on the 'thrill of the chase' and securing new clients. Within the Sales & Product Division, the Business Development Manager is accountable, but not limited to,  the following responsibilities:

● Seek and manage new and existing trade partnership clients and promote the Company’s services and products to show the value to the client
● Promote Excite Holidays’ product offerings or solutions, explain our technology and capabilities to generate growth of system usage by clients
● Maintain and manage ongoing relationships with customers to increase sales
● Establishing relationships with new customers via telesales
● Working in conjunction with Sales Manager
● Daily management of Back Office, providing updates and comments to the Sales
● Plan in order to report on weekly activity
● Provide training, feedback, advice, recommendations and support to customers and internal stakeholders regarding the system and booking creation
● Monitor sales activity
● Ensure any promotional activity returns a positive ROI in terms of customer engagement and top line sales
● Update agency profiles and/or usernames in the system
● Work with the Sales Optimisation Manager to identify trends and be proactive in addressing them

The ideal candidate?

● Previous sales and account management experience within the Travel Industry, telesales experience is highly regarded
● Tertiary or higher qualifications (preferably Travel and Tourism related)
● Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word and Excel at an advanced level
● A thorough working knowledge of wholesale sales operations and reservations
● Maintain knowledge of  wholesale travel operations and market audience
● Maintain knowledge of day-to-day market developments liaising with internal and external customers regarding latest market trends and conditions
● Understand the retail travel distribution avenues and cost of sale impact
● Be familiar with retail travel agencies and their employees as well as trade distribution within the assigned area
● A drive for securing new business and growing the business
● A caring and proactive approach to looking after your client base
● Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills with experience in analysing data
